"Ann represents a life lived for yoga, Reiki and Ai Chi. She shares her wisdom in a safe and gentle teaching style. Live your life more fully, learn with Ann" Lisa, Florida
Ann started her yoga practice in 1986 while applying her newly earned Master's Degree in Health at a corporate headquarters employee wellness program.
With the desire to combine her passions of yoga, canoeing, hiking, teaching and learning in one stroke of the brush, Ann took a fork in the road and moved to and taught at a health resort on Cresent lake in Maine. This opened up a whole new world to Ann, an alternative world which was holistic and healing. There was so much to learn, and it all made sense.
From Maine Ann moved to Vermont where she lived for twenty years. Ann considers this time her 'second upbringing' as her teachers, studies and life in Vermont redefined her.
Yoga, Reiki, Ai Chi, Native American Studies and nature were her subjects.
As I reflect on my life in Vermont now, I appreciate it even more for its quality of life experience.
Long, cold and snowy winters at elevation in a snow belt inspired Ann to move to the desert of Southern California and explore the potential benefits of practicing and teaching Ai Chi in natural thermal mineral water. The experience was loved by all.
After many years, Ann returned to Connecticut to be with her mother in her final years.
Reiki was very helpful in calming her mother's agitation, easing pain and supporting her transition.
During this time Ann welcomed the practice of Shinrin Yoku into her life. Her love and understanding of the wisdom of nature deepened as a gift of this practice.
Ann's teaching experiences include corporations, health resorts, boutique hotels, spas, hospitals, educational and community settings.
Seeking support for a healthy body and positive relationship with herself, yoga, Reiki, meditation, Ai Chi and Shinrin Yoku have all turned into adventures of self-discovery and healing for Ann.
Ann's lifelong long love of nature and spending time with it, from fishing as a child with her dad on Lake Louise in Banff, Canada, winter camping in Glacier National Park, Montana, hiking on a sand floor in the desert, walking the Pacific Ocean bluffs in Northern California and watching the leaves change colors in the hills of New England, nature has always befriended, strengthened and supported Ann through its giving presence.
Ann's love of animals and the desire to ease their suffering and support them in recapturing their innate joy, fuels her passion for sharing Reiki with animals.
Her dedication to her inner development and study are what she most generously offers and encourages in her students.
